Investment and Infrastructure May 10, 2020 by Leah Wolfe

A few themes we explore in this session:

  • How can long-term agreements with producers allow them to focus on regenerative outcomes?
  • How can large organizations bring smaller producers into existing infrastructure to help them take advantage of economies of scale?
  • Will decentralizing supply systems in favor of regionalized ones make them more resilient?

The way I see it, working to scale regenerative is having a retailer or food service entity at scale at the table with a farm network representative. We need serious commitments from each area of supply, we can’t just commit for four weeks or a month to see how well this product sells and if it doesn’t, we take it off the shelf. When we collaborate this way, it’s easy to bring an investor in and say,

“All these people along the chain are committed to making this happen. We have the demand, we have the supply, we have it all together.”
